About Me:
Hello everyone! My name is Aniesha but everyone calls me Neesh and i prefer that. Im 23 years old and have been dealing with Alopecia since the age of 12 years old. I have been struggling emotional cause all i want to be is normal. But as the days goes by i become more and more comfortable with being completely bald. I havent gotten to that point where i can go outside with nothing on my head. But i just started being comfortable enough in my relationship to lose the scarf while in the house around my partner. I have come here in hopes to find some type of help. I have never seen a Dermatologist or received any treatments. Neglected as a child when my hair started falling out no one thought to take me to the doctors. And as a adult now i still havent took the initiative. Maybe im just scared. I need someone to relate to. Some one that can understand me.

Bald Butches Unite!  You look very good without hair.  I have been bald most of my life. Does your partner love you?  She probably is not worried about the fact you don't have hair.  We need to be able to relax. Good luck and write if you ever need support.  Mara

I have been doing pretty good. ive been staying busy with school. now tho it seems my alopecia is progressing to my eyebrows and eyelashes falling out. this has been pretty upsetting bc now i look a lot different and you can tell. ive been trying to work with it tho but its hard. How have u been?

Your welcome. And about the shots it depends on how you take pain and shots but yes they are painful only because the shots are directly under your scalp and you have to get them all over but this is my second round and it didn't bother me as much as the first time. It also helps when i think about what the shots could do for me! :)

i also have universalis...i lost all my hair on my entire body except my eyebrows about 8mos ago but i was diagnosed about 6mos. i am currently seeing a dermatologist and getting prednizone injections in my scalp and im starting to get some very small patches of growth and peach fuzz all over which is promising. i know that it will take a while to see any big results even though it took only about 4mos for it all to fall out. I am very scared an nervous like you. i always wear a wig and have only worn a bandanna ( and thats it) in public once but it felt great. only about 5 people (my boyfriend and family) know about my hair loss but only my mom and boyfriend have seen it. i find it very empowering to put pics of me on here as i am. wearing a wig everyday is very annoying bc the hair is so itchy i just dont have the self confidence yet to go bald bc of the reactions i know people will give me...but as people are telling me on here we're not alone and we cant change who we are and how we look so just make the best of it. i would recommend talking to a dr and def a dermatologist if you're looking into treatment. its all really just see if it works because they dont have any cure for this but it can't hurt to try is how i feel. im glad you joined and dont hesitate to send me a message with any questions or just to talk because i know what a struggle this is!

hows it goin?! i was just recently diagnosed but like you Im ready to stop hiding and just be me because I cant change who I am or whats happening im just doing it very slow and am still very shy but im starting to come out my shell! you have alopecia universalis?
