My 3 year son; Triston has Alopecia. He has been completely bald for almost a year now including his eyebrows and eyelashes. We tried the prescribed meds for a while (steriods, rogain) but stopped after about 6 months when his eyelashes and eyebrows came out. At this point he deals with it pretty well. I often times just look at him and admire how beautiful he is; my heart just breaks for him. I so badly wish that I could forever protect him from the cruel world we live in. I know a day will come when his heart will break as mine does now. I dont want him to have to go through the teasing; or feel the rejection because he has no hair. It hurts that he is often defined as the "kid with no hair". I work everyday to learn how to be as strong as possible; to be as positive as I possibly can when we are faced with constant stares. I would love to connect with other mothers/people who have been or are where I am today in this journey.
