It would depend on how bad the patches are. If you have a few patches and your hair is long enough to cover it, then I would just put up with it. In my situation it got to the point where I had about 50% of bald patches covering my head and I wore hats everyday anyways, so when I shaved my head it took a great load of stress off me. I am 34 years of age so when people ask me why I shaved my head I just tell them the truth and really is not a big deal and no one really seems shocked when I tell them alopecia. This is something I was embarrassed to say in my younger years and I let it hold me back from many things. looking back now, I would have shaved my head long ago.
