I had lost about 20% of my hair and went through months of misery over it. It all came back after about 6+ months. I still get the occasional spot but I try not to let it get me down (sometimes it's easier said than done though!)
I blogged about my experiences. I hope you're having better luck with the NHS than I did. The waiting lists are so frustrating. Keep hassling your GP/hospital for appointments with a dermatologist (if you haven't already seen one). I found that the steroid cream and foam really helped grow hair back quicker. Everybody has different experiences though.
You have come to the best place for support though. If I can be of any help then just let me know.
