im Jade. ive had alopecia areata since i was about 5 years old. i had patchy spots all over my head and i never completely lost all my hair. i had a little pony tail and that little piece of hair ment the world to me. i had long curly hair a year or 2 ago but at christmas time this year i cut it off because of my bald spots occuring again. my friends and family are very suportive of me and i love them all so much for it. being bald and not wearing a wig is exactly how i want to be. to me i think wearing a wig is just for dress up and for insecure people. but thats just my view. some r pretty but its not my thing. anyways. i like to just hang out and talk. i laugh alot about just about everything. i dont have a problem with showing my feelings or thoughts to anyone. i have a good time with my friends and we hang out alot. i cant stand being without them. i met some great new friends at NAAF in Kentucky this year. they are Max Kaplin, Brendon Reynolds, and Rico Fernandez. Max is so cool. i like him alot. in alot of ways, if u no what i mean ;) Brendons the bomb. hes so funny. i love being around him. he always makes me laugh. Rico is hilarious. he is a music freak! he knows like every song! its crazy. hes awesome.

Hey Jade, I saw the picture of the shirt you have (I dont have Cancer It's called Alopecia Areata) and I totally want one. Did you make it or where did you find it?
I have AU and have been completely bald for over a year, I get asked if I have cancer all the time. Hence the reason I want a shirt.
Hi I am Taylor. How old are you now?? I am 10 years old and you look around my age. I have alopecia areata. We are kinda similar...I have never completely lost my hair but I do wear wigs. I love music and singing. I am in chorus and dance now. And I haven't had like blad spots fill in with hair and fall out again yet and hopefully wont....I love reading peoples stories. You should look over peoples pages like mineeeeee!
Hi Jade,
Great story! You have a fabulous attitude. I think you are great for going without hair! Remember that it's okay for each of us to do our own thing as far as covering up or not -- it's not nescessarily because of insecurity, it's just that we're all different and have our own levels of comfort. That's what acceptance is all about!
