About Me:
I am 25yrs old with alopecia areata, I woke one morning to get a really short hair cut and noticed a small patch, didnt think much about it at the time, as time went by it increased in size and got bigger. First doctor i went to diagnosed me with some type of fungus and prescribed some pills and antifungal cream. A month went by and it got worse more patches started showing up. I went back to the Doctor who than refferred me to a Dermatologist, who than diagnosed me with alopecia areata. If you want to know about the treatment or more about me let me know.

Yea I have had several cortisone injections to the spots, dermatologist also offered a treatment similar to poison oak to cause irritation that would cause hair growth. PCH is beautiful take it everytime i go to santa monica or malibu. Yea im letting my hair grow long to cover the spots but i have this one thats about 2 inches in diameter and another one immediately on top of it about 1.5 in diameter and several other ones around the head that are small dime sized.

Susan- Things are going good, at first i didnt want to be go out socially and always wore a heat, but know im becoming more comfortable with it. and if ppl ask me I tell them to make them aware of the condition.
