My name is Lacey, i am 18 years old.I was diagnosed with alopecia areata in the summer of 2008. I joined this site to find other teenagers that are experiencing the same troubles and difficulty's as i am dealing with alopecia. I would love to hear your stories please contact me! I got a friend to change my password so i could concentrate on my exams haha. I'm good thanks darling just waiting til the end of the month so i can forget about exams and start enjoying the summer! haha. How are you my love? Getting up to much this summer?
My hair's ok-ish, i'm not sure i feel like it's falling out more than usual but i'm not sure whether i'm just being paranoid or not :/ how's yours? Yess, let me know if you think it works, though obv it'll take a while0 i really hope it does!

Can i dye my hair?

Hello, everyone! I am thinking about dying my hair a lighter color so the contrast of the spots and my dark hair is less noticable. Does anyone know if this is could be damaging and possibly cause more balding to occur?

Please tell me what you think!

Sometimes i feel like my hair is a burden i know i really should be so happy that i am able to keep some of my hair as i see many other people on the site have lost it all. However sometimes i wonder if having nothing at all would in a sense set me free. I find myself constantly stressing about the development of new spots and the shedding of the hair i currently have. Yesterday i found what looks to me like a new spot ..after months of not having any!:(

This is a poem i wrote about Alopecia i apologize if it is a bit depressing.

here it goes...

Back to Before



Just as my life began to feel whole again there you came trampling back in.
