I am a 34 year old female with total loss of head on my scalp and patchy loss on the rest of my body. I first experienced patchy hair loss in my late teens which eventually grew back (over a year or two) and then started losing my hair again about four years ago. I am a stay at home mother of three children aged six, four and two.

Hi, Lisa. I was reading your bio and you sound so much like me!! I'm 36, mother to three little girls, and also a stay-at-home mom. My kids are 9, 7, & 3. Plus I also do home daycare....so basically I've got kids running around everywhere! My hair started coming out in patches my sophomore year of college. It fell out completely when I was 25, then grew back with the help of prednisone. Fell out again completely last year and this time it's probably gone for good b/c I don't want to take the prednisone anymore. I'm less self-conscious this time around--guess it's getting older and wiser--although I've never gone outside (other than to the mailbox) with nothing on my head. I don't always wear my wig, but I've usually got a bandanna or a cap. I don't wear anything around the kids, though and they don't seem to care which is cool.
Hi Lise,
I am also married, almost 37 and mom to 2 wonderful kiddos. I have had A. areata for almost 5 years. How do your kids feel about your baldness? :) I want to shave my head so bad but my oldest who is 9 is a little nervous about a bald mom. I promised not to go out in public unless my head was covered (until he is used to it). I am not a wig girl.
Hi Lisa. I'm Brandy, 30 and mom to two beauties. Ethan is 10 and Kassidy is 8. I got diagnosed in October w/ A.A. but it began in June. I had to hide two huge spots during my wedding this past Sept.!!!
Glad you made it and I look forward to getting to know you more
