I hope all good! I'm attending a local AA support gathering this weekend in Plantation with my daughter who is now 10 years old. I thought of you. Let me know if you would like more info!
Welcome to this amazing site. I see we both live in Tamarac! I'd love to meet you sometime. Your daughters are amazing. If there is one thing I've learned from my daughter with AA is that if I cope, she copes! When I stress...she stresses. There are a handful of kids at her school with AA. Although she does not know them personally, she is very aware of them. I try to ask her how they are doing from time to time. You are right about how unpredictable AA is. Most treatments work on some of the people some of the time. The trick is find the right combo.
I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have and share our experiences.
I know how hard alopecia can be; I have had it for about 30 years. After I became the spokesperson for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, a lot of women and their daughters were needing my help and support, so I wrote a book called, "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" You can find out more on my page -- and it's available on this site under "Bookshelf." Let me know if there's anything else I can do!
