I thought I was progressing with this Alopecia thing. I started growing my hair back after my little girl was born but 3 months into it I shaved it because it had started to fall out again. I started wearing my wigs again. And I just am so unhappy with it! Its been 10 years and my hair has never fully come back and I am sick of it and dont know what to do, I really want it back. So I have been growing my hair out since June 26th. I have alot of hair coming in and it kinda got my hopes up, will there be hair in my future? I still have spots and its pretty thin in some places. I just dont know what to do anymore? I want to keep growing it out, I hate to give up so early and shave it again. But when I take showers and run my fingers through it I can see these hairs that still fall out. I wanna beleive it will come back to me! Is it crazy of me to think after 10 years… Continue

Me and Alopecia

When I was 14 I found my first spot on the back of my head. I didnt know what it was and of course freaked out. My mom, knowing what it was (her half brother had Alopecia) took me to the dematologist and I was diagnost with Alopecia Areata. My hair kept on falling out, it progressed into AT. We tried ALL the treatments which resulted in alot of irritated inflamed skin (hurt like hell) and oh yes the 2nd degree burn on my head. Im Casey!!!

Just joined today. And was thinking to myself, why havent I found a site like this before? Well in all honesty I never was able to talk to people about my Alopecia, kinda just went on about my life pissed that I had no hair and had to wear wigs... Welp Im totally over that! We're doing great! How about you and Miss Delaney? Yeah I miss chatting with you but totally understand how you may be busy with you little bumpkin, she must be getting so big. How is everything with you?
I will be getting my vacuum wig in April I am so excited to be getting it before summer so I will have more options when it comes to my hair. I don't mind my wig now but am so excited that the wind water ect wont bother me as much at least i wont think me hair will fly away or float off in the water.lol I really like you hair I am going to have to start gathering up ideas for my new do.
