Hi I love your post and I'm sure that there are those of us who think that very same thing me included. Welcome to a safe place to be yourself, I'm new here also and have found nothing but good folks who care.
I don't have alopecia...my Mom does and I do all I can to support her because this disease is very emotionally and spiritually taxing. I think all of you who are living with alopecia and your loved ones are survivors.
Thank you for the wonderful comment! I would love to talk to you more... I havent been on here much due to the Holidays but now im back in full swing. hope to hear from you soon
Hi Melvin, I wanted to take this opportunity to welcome you to Alopecia World. I have been living with Alopecia Areata since 1991 and know full well the struggle it can be. I look forward to getting to know you. Cheryl, Co-founder
Thanks and Happy New Year to you Melvin!!
Yes, I'm very grateful to have a loyal husband during this time. It has been a blessing to have his support. I'm very sorry that you are having difficulty having people see pass the alopecia. As a woman it's the reason I wear a wig each day. But don't despair, try to keep a positive outlook and keep talking to folks here who understand your feelings--it really helps.
Take care.
