I developed alopecia areata at age 37 (about 13 years ago). First it small patches of hair loss, then I lost most of my scalp hair. Then it came back for about 7 months. Then I lost everything. Then my hair came back white with two distinct black patches. I sported that look in "corporate America"
then I lost it all again. Now I have a couple eyebrows and eye lashes and some scalp hair, but it's not "hair I can wear". For about 10 years, I have led workshop at the National Alopecia Areata Foundation annual conference for helping women to draw on eyebrows and put on eye lashes when they have lost everything. I believe that being "resourceful" is my life's mission. I get great joy out of helping others - and it helps me, too. My hair loss has created great challenges for me and great blessings.

Hi Patty- Hope all is going well for you. I'm trying to contact all of the Wisconsinites in AW to ask that everyone join the new Wisconsin group that I formed. I thought it might be nice for newcomers and for us to share local events. Hope to see you this summer? ((Hugs)) Susan
