My story about having Alopecia

I was about 9 or 10( gr.5)when my hair started falling out. I am now 18. It was and still is very hard dealing with it. I have an under active thyroid so im pretty sure my Alopecia is caused by that because I've read places that thyroid problems can be the cause of Alopecia.In elementary school I got made fun of a lot. Your story is, unfortunately, not uncommon. People can be cruel. I'm sorry you have had to deal with it.
I've had AU -- no hair anywhere -- for 20 years. I wrote a book to help women with issues like makeup, how to deal with insensitive comments, wigs, how to tell people (including guys you date) and a lot of other things. Welcome! I noticed you're in Brantford - I'm in Guelph. I've had alopecia all my life and I've recently started a support group called Palopecia for people in the area, you're welcome to attend a meeting, just let me know. Have fun here though, it's a great place!
