I'm a 62 year old woman who, since my alopecia areata got out of control this month, is acting like a 2 year old... I can't stop crying, I don't know what to do first, who I can talk to, who knows what I'm going through. Friends think I have a fatal disease I'm so upset... I know this won't kill me but I feel I might just die of embarrassment. This website seems like a great place to start.

Hello and welcome, Susan,
I know how hard alopecia can be; I have had it for about 30 years. Let me know if you need help or support. One thing that you might be interested in is my book, written for women, called "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" (It just won two national awards!) It has a lot of good info in it, it can answer many questions, and it's a fun read, too. You can find out more on my page. It's available on Amazon.com. Let me know if there's anything else I can do! I am here to help.
