Hi Tammy, I wanted to take this opportunity to welcome you to Alopecia World. I have been living with Alopecia Areata since 1991 and know full well the struggle it can be. I look forward to getting to know you. Cheryl, Co-founder
Hi Tammy,
Beware of claims that you can take something and cure alopecia. So far, there is no 'cure' just treatments that may or may not really help. While hormones may play a role in triggering alopecia, there isn't any proof that taking them will change anything - in fact - I've never heard that anyone has been helped in this way. Sometimes, alopecia just shuts itself off for no obvious reason and if a person has been trying some sort of treatment, they ascribe the improvement to that treatment when it would have gotten better all on it's own anyway. Be careful.
