54 year old Black male locked in battle with Alopecia. While it manifested itself starting in 2001, the bald spot in the back of my head grew to the size of a lemon. Over the years it has grown back in slowly. A doctor prescribed a topical cream called Clobetasol Propionate . The regrowth was agonizingly slow and was completely white and had the consistency of corn silk. But I had a great barber/hairstylist that worked with me and suggested coloring my hair. So as the hair grew in we worked to keep it all the same color. It's still 'thin' in that spot, but I consider myself very, very fortunate. I have a couple of small areas around the hairline that I've noticed lately that are probably not noticeable to anyone else. But my Alopetia has an ally. male pattern baldness. So I'm starting to thin naturally in the top from that. But at almost 55, and being the handsome devil that I am and with my brother's support, this hair 'thing' isn't going to get me down. I am Healthy and I am Blessed. Thanks Mike!

Hey big brother. Glad to see you joined. I haven't spent a lot of time on the site yet but the time I have spent has been fun, warm and inviting. I think we can both benefit from others in the group who are actually suffering with more advanced AA than us. And like you said, you can just buzz it all off because 'bald' is in!! Just be happy it hasn't started on your eyebrows like me. I'll need the tattoo or implants there soon! Love you.
