This will be my first support group and first time meeting other individuals with Alopecia.
Im extremely excited, hope you can make it out! :)
Hey Cody,
I hope things are getting better for you. I wish you could make it to one of our meetings I'm sure you would enjoy them and we are full of lots of tips, tricks, etc. Eyebrows are a tough one. I drew mine on for 9 years and then just got sick of it and had them tattooed on. It's the best thing I ever did. Wish I would have done it along time ago. I can give you the info for the artist and the group and I normally make a trip to see her once a month with everyone wanting it done. You are welcome to come see the process anytime!
Easiest way to reach me is via this email address baldgirl65@yahoo.com if you want to chat. Also, check out the groups website for more info and when we are meeting, etc. www.morethanmyhair.org
heyy, my summer is going great, but i spent most of it out of state. since im going to be a senior this year, my dad told me i cant go anywhere since he needs to save for college so i planned summer '09 very busy... lol
i have been battleing with my eyebrows for the past 6 years, before that, it was only attacking my head. i do at this moment still have some eyebrow left but i am totally bald, i go every three weeks and get shots, however they are extremely painful, the hair growth is only temporary, and after a while your body will become immune to the meds... like what happening to me right now. i started seeing a specialist in alopecia but i dont really like going to him because he wants to give me lots of shots, and take a lot of meds, i have what i have, i dont want to put my body threw a nasty change. so i see a regular dermatologist, they would be able to give you the shots, but check first to see if they will work for you.
i know how you feel about the eyebrows, its what i've been fighting to have and i have been able to keep them for this long, i hope u can longer
thank you! im doing well.. actually the end of this month it will be a year since i was diagnosed.. so its kind of a weird feeling. I just got back from school yesterday.. so now im living home for the next 3 months or so.. im not exactly too thrilled, but its good to be with the family i suppose. how are you?
Honestly, I know this is all knew to you, but I think that with the beautiful face you have, you would never have problems meeting people, with or without hair.
If you ever want to chat, my msn is yoenuy@hotmail.com.
Hey Cody
Not sure if you know but you can get various types of false eyebrows (tattoos and apliques) but may I recommend a support group? Toronto has a group that meets at one of the hospitals (I can get detailed info. if you're interested) and I find it really helps to talk to others dealing with the same thing and it helps you feel that you're not alone in your plight. I run a group in Guelph. Hope your sister is liking Guelph.
