Hi Lucey,
I read your discussion topic, I just wanted to reach out and let you know, I developed alopecia when I was about 14-15 and it was so hard to go through during high school when looks seem to be everything in life. I am now in my thirty and everything that happens at a young age seems so much easier now. I just wanted to let you know I completely understand how you are feeling and trust me when I say this. Your real friends will stick by you and love you no matter what.
It took me a few years to get a wig and be ok with it, but it was by far the best thing I could have done. I still struggle some times with having to wear a wig and put on make up to look "normal" but I have a great group of friends and wonderful boyfriend who love me and really it isn't the end of the world.
Keep your head up and know you are still wonderful no matter if you have hair or not.
