i am 33 years old and ive had alopecia nearly 7 years and its been an adventure...I just want my hair back. I have lost all confidence in myself. my wonderful husband is the only confidence i have. my hair fell out shortly after we met and instead of running from me he has been so supportive and i am forever grateful he is in my life. i have not yet been able to embrace my baldness and that is why i am on this website. i want to learn to accept my aa and to find my confidence again!
What part of the Carolinas is home for you? I'm in Rutherfordton, between Charlotte and Asheville. You were the first to 'friend' me on this forum, and I have to admit that the ID of "Mrs,. Lightsey" had me picturing a little old fashion lady in rural England! Your happy photos tell me otherwise. Hope you're continuing to cope with this unkind disease.
Hi! I am glad you're interested in my book! It's not available on download, though -- you have to go to Amazon and buy a hard copy. Let me know how you like it!
That's wonderful that you want to get involved and help others. If you ask for guidance you will be shown what to do.
It is nice to meet you. Unfortunately, I've only just begun my journey and have no wonderful words of wisdom. I was diagnosed with FFA two weeks ago (though I think I''e been battling at least six months) - so, as my hair goes, it's gone for good. Hard to write and believe it is really happening. However, I am trying to come to terms with this thing and take it day by day.
Regardless, I am super glad to meet new folks. Know that we all are on this boat together -- at least we're not alone :-). Have a good day.
