My names Tina. I just turned 18, I was diagnosed with AA when I was 17. I really just want to talk to someone who is having the same struggles as I am. Its very hard not personally knowing anyone with this. I still have some of my hair, I just wish it was all of it. I'm so embarrassed to have to wear extensions, I try not to tell anyone. Hey, Friend! I had the same questions at your age. True, I had been wearing two different half-wigs for the last years of high school, but when my alopecia stated taking my front hair, I had to get a full wig for college. I got a light, breezy one because I knew I needed a way to change quickly in the dorm. The elastic kept it on. Just go to a good wig shop and try them all on, look at all colors your fave can be ordered in. Then, with this back-up, you can move right into having a full-hair look the minute you decide this is all too much for you. By the way, it took a sensitive guy from church camp's telling me that hair loss didn't matter to love to get me ready for dating in college. I even dated others besides that guy, went on camping trips, danced, and joined a sorority!
