I had a follow-up visit with my doctor today. She's just great and I am always encouraged after seeing her. I noticed the first signs of regrowth in March (I'm talking microscopic here), by April it was a wee bit more visible though I was really quite bald. Had about 20% of my hair still hanging on for dear life. Throughout April it really came in and now I have a good bit of coverage. Last night, I created a Mii on the Wii - Bald! Call it sneak peak of what I might look like without any hair. It was actually quite fun to create the avatar. Plus, my Mii kicked ass.

My story began just over two months ago. I was getting ready to go out on a Saturday night, and noticed a bald patch on the right side of my head as I was drying my hair. I was a little freaked out, but read about it and asked a dermatologist friend who assured me it was Alopecia Areata and that it wasn't serious. He said given my age and no previous history of alopecia areata, that my prognosis was good. I made an appointment with a dermatologist to get the steroid injections.
