Off to college

My daughter is starting her sophomore year and changing to a large university. We moved her down to her new apartment today because she is "rushing" this week. I really don't understand the whole sorority thing because I went to nursing school but it is important to her so, I support her. Water activity, wigs and update

I just wanted to update everyone that it is possible to enjoy water sports with a wig. We went to the lake this weekend and my daughter went boating and when a friend of ours pulled up in his cigarette boat she didn't hesitate to jump in. He found several boats to race and goes over 100mph. She did not think twice about her wig. She then went wake skating and fell at least 5 times, I was her spotter. Update on my college freshman

My daughter has had AU for over a year now and she has grown so much! She told me today that she told one of her new close friends and she said, "yea I already knew but didn't want you to be uncomfortable." She said the girls that know don't care and the boys just think you are gorgeous. This was a relief for her to reveal this since she never really knew if her new friends knew are not. 1 year anniversary of my daughter's alopecia

Today marks the 1 year anniversary of when my daughter's hair started falling out. She told me this yesterday and wanted to contact some of the friends that helped her the most last year. She lost all of her beautiful waist lenth hair in 2 weeks. She was a highschool senior. She continued to cheer, party, do well in school and live a normal life.
