The Bald Woman Project 2009.

As an artist I've always enjoyed exploring ideas and asking questions through various mediums. From film, photography, stage plays to painting I love using these as doors to present questions to the world. Lord willin', sometime in 2009 I'll be able to put the art piece on exhibit.

I'd like to get some ideas from my fellow alopecians about some projects that you'd like to see featuring bald women. Honesty is appreciated.

Halle Berry will be bald in her new movie Nappily Ever After!

Ladies and gentlemen it seems Ms. Berry will be shaving her head bald to play a woman who looses her hair and forced to deal with the perceptions of women without hair. I believe this is based off a book that won a few awards. It sounds very interesting and I think it'll be good. What do you all think?

Cicatricial Alopecia aka Scarring Alopeica!!

Hair loss is hair loss but I notice that ones with AA or Alopecia Areata had smooth skin where as those with CA or Cicatricial have skin that can look like somone burnt it. Having this form of hair loss was one thing that kept me from shaving it all off because I didn't want the scarring to show. I've had cicatricial alopecia for some years now and I wanted to know of others who has the same type.

What do you think if there were more bald women in mainstream media?

In the past few months I've learned so much about various kinds of alopecia and the people it effects. I would love to see women more accepted in movies, news and entertainment that are bald. It's the artist in me speaking out, but hey. Why not?
