Well I’ve decided to try and be a little more frequent and shorter with my posts…
First let me just apologize for everyone that’s left me comments. I haven’t had the chance to reply because I’ve been so busy, but I have read every comment and I appreciate it. And I also hope everyone is doing well.
I’m sick of people saying that they didn’t recognize me at first because of my bald head. Does hair really change you that much??? It seems like everyone I run into that I haven’t seen in a while say that. I can’t wait until I transfer to another college in January. I can be free and have a fresh start. I don’t think I’ll need my hat as my security blanket anymore.
I will admit, that nearly everyone I’ve been around that hasn’t recognized me has been supportive of me and hasn’t said anything negative about it. I’ve gotten a couple “baldy” and “Mr. Clean” comments, which really don’t bother me. And a few players on the high school varsity soccer team have even gone as far as rubbing my head for good luck before a game.
So yesterday morning I woke up to the phone ringing at 5:30. It wasn’t that bad as I was planning on waking up at 6, but I didn’t get to it in time and everyone else was busy with their morning routines that they didn’t get to it either. I checked the voicemail and it was a colleague of my mothers calling to let her know all schools in the area had a 2 hour delay because of the storm the night before….what storm? Haha
When I went to bed it was windy but I had no idea that the wind had knocked out power to thousands of people and that all schools, including my college were on a delay. What’s nice is that both of my classes are within the delay so I didn’t have any classes that I had to drive to. I got to spend all my time focusing on my online class which I was slacking off in, and catch up on all the work for coaching.
Coaching is going good, my middle school modified team has their first scrimmage this Friday which is exciting. The varsity team I’m helping out with is about a month into their season and have finally found a winning streak. I really love it and have found myself at some sort of soccer event every night for the past couple of weeks.
Hope everyone who’s been affected by these storms lately is safe, and everyone one else there is continuing to enjoy life as much as they can. Keep on Keepin’ on…
