WTH?? Is this Normal?

Oh, I am So confussed! I feel like my friends here are the ONLY ones I can turn to for answers!! Cause I'm certainly getting NOWHERE with my doctor(s).

I am going through THE WORST shedding phase IMMAGINABLE! In less than two weeks I have lost nearly ALL of my hair! All I have to do is touch it and it comes out in handfulls! I even think I smell "funny" but who knows? Last night I had to get out of bed just to wipe myself off because I was absolutlely covered in hair!!!! UGGGGGG!!! What is this?

Here's my question ... With all of this shedding ... I also have New Growth!! Yeah, are you kidding me with this?? How can I be losing and regrowing at the same time??

Please help!! In my gut I feel like something else is going on besides having AA? But doctors just dismiss me! Am I crazy to feel this way?

You are not alone, it may or may not be a comfort but most of the people I have met since I discovered I have AA have gone through the same thing. Here in the UK the docs just tell you there is nothing you can do and to accept it. Its been a hell of a fight for me to get to see a dermatologist but I am now having steroid treatment (really painful) but I am showing signs of the hair coming back, thicker and much stronger than I had in the beginning.
All I would advise is that if your doctor is dismissing it out of hand then go to another until you at least get a referral to a specialist.
Persevere sweetie and we are all here to support you whenever you need it.

I remember my hair falling out like crazy. Especially in the shower. I never experienced regrowth in that period of my alopecia. It has been this year with white regrowth on my head and just recently my arms too

Keep pushing for answers.

Thanks!!! OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ... Why is this SUCH a guessing game???? I know!! WHY do I keep asking questions with no Audible Answer!!!
