So I figured I'd write a quick blog detailing my history with Alopecia since I didn't feel like writing all that in the "about me" section.
Alopecia runs in my family. My younger sister developed AA when she was 4, had a couple bald spots and then it all grew back. She's now 23 and hasn't lost any hair since. I first lost my hair at age 12 right before I began 7th grade and in a matter of 6 months went from AA to AU. I was completely bald till somewhere towards the end of 9th grade. I was able to stop wearing wigs for most of my 10th grade year, but by the end of the school year I was back to wearing wigs again. This time I had AT and I wore a wig from the summer of 1999 until somewhere around end of 2001/early 2002. I had regrowth and it actually stayed and iwas doing really good and then in the Summer of 2003 it started falling out again. By Feb of 2004, I couldn't hide the bald spots anymore and had to cut my hair off. I had AU again and that's where I've been since then. I've had some regrowth start with my eyelashes and on my head, but they've all fallen out again. So that's the short version of my story. :)
