Oh the irony.. it makes me giggle inside

so i read a tid bid of Malinda Rode's blog today and i had another epiphany (did i spell that right?)

so this fall i am going to the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis for cosmetology. i have actually had this planned since before i lost my hair, and even though my hair is gone, i still want to go because hair is my passion..

anyways. so i have decided that first day of school.. NO HAIR! not gunna wear it. why bother? my wigs are so hot and i have tried so many and they are all uncomfortable. fuck em! (can i say that word?) oops. im just gunna walk in, first day of school and introduce myself to the class, "hi my name is amanda and i have alopecia." wow im kinda excited now! yay me!

oh. and another f.y.i. i have decided that once i finish school im going to invent a new wig. i have been thinking about which ones are most comfortable and less noticable and whatever, so WATCH OUT WORLD! here i come!

Good for you, Amanda, because one has cease to be who isn't being herself. Incidentally, you're not encouraged to use profanity in Alopecia World, but I certainly understand your enthusiasm. Be sure to let us know how things go in your bald and beautiful world. :-)

Congratulations on your decision to go to beauty school!! It always surprises me when I see a beautician/cosmetologist/anyone who does hair that doesn't know what alopecia is -- so to have an alopecian showing up the first day of beauty school telling everyone what it is is awesome!! You'll do well, I know it!

Way to go Amanda! Great attitude and a wonderful place to spread awareness! I wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavors (I hope I spelled that right LOL)!

You go girl! I love u!
My hairdresser was actually the only person that inmediately told me I had alopecia! I actually kind of ignored him (stupid me) and listened to the stupid doctors who said it was stress, in the end, the master was right!
Wish u all the best! xx
