I was just wondering if anyone had any idea why during my pregnancy, my hair grew back in nice and thick, with very few spots. I thought it was due to the prenatel pills, however I am continuing to take the prenatel after my daughters birth, but my hair is falling out in massive amounts. Within a month and a half after her birth I went from thick hair to almost no hair at all! Why?

Hi Jaime,
I had some regrowth during my first pregnancy too. It covered most of my head and grew about 1/4 of an inch in length. All my hair fell out again about 1-2 months after the birth. During my second pregnancy I didn't have any regrowth. It's hard to figureout why there is hair growth/ hair loss sometimes.

I had the same experience. It is the hormones that you develop during pregnancy.

I know it's been a few years since this was posted but I wanted to share that the same happened to me this past year. My hair completely came in from being so AU I didn't even have to shave, to having 6 inches of hair! I think that during pregnancy you're immuno-suppressed so that your body doesn't attack the baby, then when the baby's born your immune system automatically kicks back up into high gear.
