Today is exactley a year since I shaved my head. A year ago today I took control over something that I was letting control me and depress me. This year has been full of a LOT of downs...breaking my foot, vertigo, missing 3 months of work, and doctor bills coming out of everywhere, and losing my boyfriend of 3 years because he wasn't attracted to me without my hair. But out of all the bad I do have good...a loving family that is ALWAYS there for me and supports me, and a new amazing boyfriend who knew me with long hair and no hair, and still was attracted to me. Who knows where my hair will be in 10 years, but I do know that with support from my family and friends and this website, Im going to be just fine. My hair doesn't define who I am.

Ultimately, it is we who have to live with the daily routines and thoughts about our hair, men or no men. I applaud you for putting #1 ...yourself...first on this issue. Now you have presented the real you and the controlled situation, as YOU need to control it to have peace with yourself. Congrats on the amazing boyfriend!

Congrats Tamara on the positive changes to you life. I wish you all the happiness that life can offer, to make the hiccups manageable with the wonderful support you have.
This September will also be my one year anniversary of the day I took back my life from alopecia by shaving the last bits of hair off. Alopecia may control our hair BUT IT WILL LONGER CONTROL OUR LIVES.
