Now to set the record straight im not here to gloat im here to inform people about the success i have had from cortisone shots, forgive me if thats the wrong spelling.

The first time i had alopecia i was incredibly afraid of needles didnt get shots, well i paid for it in the end lost most of my hair but it grew back. Went around 2 years with hair and it was awesome, noticed a bald spot went in to see if there was any new treatment doctor said youll have the best luck with shots, i said bring it on. Now it took a while like a couple months lots of shots and im gunna tell you i have a high tolerance for pain and they hurt but it was worth it i currently have all my hair over a year later. So if you havent tried it DO IT i highly recommend it and i hope it works for you, if it doesnt, my heart goes out to you and everyone with alopecia.

May love flow through your vains,
Kevin

I'm glad to hear that they worked for you, Kevin! They always helped my hair grow in, but they never stopped new patches from falling out. Eventually I had lost too much hair for the shots to work and now I am AU and the happiest I have ever been! I don't have to fight against my body anymore. I hope your hair continues to do well :)
Cheers,
Natalie

Whenever I start to get another bald spot, I go in and get those done and in the next five months the bald spot is no where to be found. Its like a miracle shot and very much worth the pain.

I wish I could go back...
My Nana always told me the needles worked for her, and this time she kept telling me to try them, but the allergy treatment was working for me so I never did. Now its not anymore and Ive never been so hairless in my life, even my face this time. So I started the needles in my eyebrows but because it was christmas I had to wait and watch them almost all dissappear, then I got them and within 3 weeks I had regrowth, went again and the other gaps show dark hair coming through, I actually cant believe it but in a month and a haif the eyebrows that did come in are full length!! GREAT!
Now Im wondering if I should try my scalp but I hear most people say they dont do it for over 50% hairloss, and Im about 95% or more :( but my Nana said she had almost all of her head done at the same time, and it worked and she didnt have it reoccur for a longgg time! And I had a LOT of white regrowth everywhere, so Im wondering what anyone thinks, if I should try it in some spots, if it may help the white growth turn colour... ? One of my aunts lost all of her hair very fast and when it came back it was all in within 3 months, this is what Im hoping for, I dread the through of a wig or anything in the summer!! :(
Although I do know it could be worse, I could have no sign of regrowth, so I should be happy... Im just do bad with patience!! lol
ps.... soo happy for your regrowth, thats AWESOME!

oh!! may be a silly question, but did you gain weight while using it??
I have heard many horror stories about people getting much bigger, not that I have anything wrong with bigger people, I just would hate to go through that change right now alone with being bald so that is the main reason Im scared of trying it...

i ALSO TRIED CORTISONE SHOTS SAME TYPE OF STORY DIFFERENRT RESULTS THOUGH i was taking cortisone injections to the rear end ounce a month for about nine months i also got almost all my hair back with positive results from the shots , but came into some major stress in my life right at the same time new marriage, dog died and started a new carreer with high stress job be leave it or not all in that same month i had some sort of breakdown or cortisone reaction and got a third degree type rash over entire mid torso doc would not give me anymore shots that month by next month , month and a half lost 90% of all my hair on my entire body, been bold since doc says i may of had a alergic type reaction to cortisone ,also could have been the stress. i guess the moral of the story is dont stress out, or sweat the small stuff, and possibly dont overdose on cortizone shots either.

I too went and got cortisone shots..Yes they hurt but I would try anything.....Hair did regrow...slowly in those spots, but i still lost hair and developed new patches all over. I didnt notice any weight gain. At one time my dr told me i was in "remission" that lasted till the next week when it sempt like i woke up to more spots. I have lost over 70 percent over the last 3 yrs. some spots filled in. Looks like i have a bad haircut were my new growth is, and with every baldspot that appears. I get new growth...and then new spots of no hair appear. Never ending battle..I am menopausal and on hormone patch....I have asked over and over if this may contibute to AA. I have been told no.....does anyone else have these hormone concerns?
