Aerialist with alopecia to appear on America's Got Talent Tues. June 17

Hey Folks,

I auditioned for America's Got Talent this season with my aerial silks act. My audition was filmed and will air on NBC at 8pm on Tues. June 17. During my backstage interview I discuss my experience with Alopecia and the challenges I had to overcome in continuing my career as a performing artist. I even took my wig off while I was on camera!! I hope to be an inspiration to others in helping them overcome their fears, to look beyond their physical appearance and to live bravely while pursuing their passions in this life. I would love the support of as many viewers as possible. Please tell your friends and family to watch America's Got Talent on NBC at 8pm to cheer me on!

I'm so bummed I missed it! Thank goodness I have on demand, it should show up for me to watch in the next week. Thank you so much for being out there showing the world! It's easy for us to feel alone with this and even tho I'm very open with mine I think for my family, friends, and coworkers I'm the only one who has it. It means so much to us :D

I saw it, but didn't log on to the site prior so it really caught me off guard...amazing performance and kudos on the bravery to speak about it...it was really emotional for at the sametime because the feelings u expressed having were very similiar to mine.

Wow!  I don't even know where to begin, Laura!  You are beautiful inside and out!  You possess brilliant and awesome talent!  You exude confidence and a positive spirit!  We had goosebumps watching you.  You have a rocking body and gorgeous face!  Thank you for pursuing your dream and treating us to such an awe-inspiring performance!  Thank you for being bold and courageous and sharing the raw emotional side of Alopecia. Thank you for not letting Alopecia change your course in life!  Thank you for showing the world that over 40 is nothing bad (I just turned 40 this year).  Thank you for being a positive "ambassador" for the cause of Alopecia.  And thank you for showing your bald beauty and not hiding... I know that took courage in front of a national TV audience!  You are a role model to so many!!

Thank you! I can't begin to tell you how good it feels to get my message across to so many people. Performing on AGT was an incredible experience, but what I'm finding even more rewarding are the messages and comments I've received from people who say I've inspired them to live out their dreams and given them hope for a better, brighter tomorrow.
