I've been trying to decide whether or not I should shave my head before getting a wig to put on it. My family is against the whole 'shaving my head completely' idea. I feel like my hair really has no value. I can only put it up in a ponytail so that the bald spot will not show. I can at least braid it before I put the wig on, but I feel like it makes no sense to keep the hair on my head that I cannot style. It's ridiculous and frustrating. lol. I can't believe I feel like I may have a panic attack over whether or not I should just shave it all off. I wanted to try some remedies at first to see if the hair will grow back but I'm afraid that it may not and what if it does and then falls right back out, the whole process will be pointless. I need to figure out what to do. I say shave it; they say NO.

I always held out hope for growth, plus leaving some hair underneath meant I had a way to use huge bobby-pins to keep wigs secure to my head (pinned through the mesh onto my natural hair). When enough hair grew in at 20, I was able to cut it into a style and go party with MY OWN HAIR. Had I not left SOME natural hair, this regrowth would have taken longer, as would have my dancin' and lovin' days at college!
