'Autoimmune' is a name frequently given to diseases characterized by the presence of Th1 inflammation. Patients are still often told there is no known cure, while they are given palliative medications intended to reduce pain, without changing the outcome of the disease. Scientists have now identified a common intra-phagocytic bacterial pathogenesis (cause) for much chronic disease, including those thought to be 'autoimmune', and other idiopathic (unknown-cause) conditions including Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, (CFS/ME), Fibromyalgia, Sarcoidosis and Post-Treatment Lyme Disease Syndrome (PTLDS).

There is no way to measure the cost to families who are suffering the ravages of chronic disease. At the core of our logo is a molecule depicting the hope that 21st Century science brings to the elderly, confined to wheelchairs, slowly becoming totally dependent upon their children. Their children, concerned about the future of the entire family, look to the science to find a cure before the pain, suffering, and cost become unbearable.

The Autoimmunity Research Foundation is working with physicians around the world to implement effective therapies based on the new discoveries. The FDA has already granted orphan product designations for two of our six applications - in the deadly disease Sarcoidosis, and the Foundation continues to work with the FDA to make effective therapies available in a wide range of diagnoses, including Sarcoidosis, PTLDS, CFS/ME, and Fibromyalgia.

Questions and Answers about Th1 disease and the Marshall Protocol (MP).

The www.CureMyTh1.org discussion site is manned by volunteer Advocates, who will answer basic questions about the cause of chronic inflammatory diseases. The Advocates will be able to help you and your physician navigate through the resources available from the (increasingly comprehensive) study-site.

The Marshall Protocol Study Site.

The www.MarshallProtocol.com study-site seeks to provide accurate, up-to-date information about the pathogenesis of chronic Th1 inflammatory diseases, and related medical issues, based on the scientific studies of Professor Trevor Marshall and his colleagues.

Moderators answer questions regarding the MP and seek to provide 24/7 support for members on the path to recovery, to help them manage the immunopathology experienced during treatment. Health care providers may join the Private Section for Health Professionals for access to all phases of the MP.

All medical decisions are made by a member's physician (often the primary care provider). Prof. Marshall and his staff will help your own physician understand the new science. Please read our Board Policies for important details.

All members must read and thoroughly understand the PHASE ONE GUIDELINES before implementing the MP. Please note that combining most other supplements, drugs or protocols with the MP is contraindicated. It is the patient's responsibility to see that the prescribing doctor is following the MP correctly and that s/he understands the effectiveness of the MP, and the dangers inherent in deviation from the guidelines.

MarshallProtocol.com is a huge study site, containing over 130,000 items. New visitors to this study-site currently can only view the small fraction of the 'iceberg' which is "above the water" and viewable by all. Moderators spend most of their time with the physicians and recovering folk in that part of the iceberg 'under the water,' restricted from casual viewing.
