break in
last night while asleep someone broke out back door and got my handbag and my hubbys wallet and phone
horrible dread is what i feel
all my ID, inc my birth cert
my business documents.
my mobile
my life in that stupid handbag in that stupid burglars hands!
the lack of control.. thats what bugs me
and my own stupidity. leaving my bag on the kitchen table, not backing up my flash drive
the what if's swirl around in my head... why me.

Immediately put an alert to DMV, Social Security, banks, credit reporting agencies, your work. Change locks. Most important, get the police in to do a report and get fingerprints and footprints. Check neighborhood garbage cans with the owners before trash collection in case they tossed some of the items of no use to them. Ask for video tapes of customers at nearest convenience stores and gas stations...or bars, wherever robbers might go first with cash at the time of the theft and within 24 hours.

You might want to consider getting a dog. Usually if petty criminals don't get caught they will
try again.

thanks for the advice guys, all done. already got the dog, he did the trick at alerting us, but it was to late..
