So...if control over your hair (are you God?) is your beef, and control is your thing, then find control another way: via the arts, weight loss, make-over, new wardrobe, rearranged furnishings, painted walls, mastery of a garden/career/family/trip/business/education, menu, spiritual path, etc. There are SOOOOOOOOOO many choices in the world and aspects of self possible. I decided to lose 55 pounds. 45 more to go...

The path is open to you. Do you see the bare trees...or the lovely greenery and flowers in life? Everything of value takes effort and change, sacrifice and endurance. You cannot just sit around expecting YOUR control and desires to plop into your lap. As the famous song goes, "You don't always get whatcha wa-ant!" (But sometimes you get what you need...as determined by The Fates.)

Yep, that's a cheap synthetic wig a friend gifted me. Who the "L" cares?

What a beautiful photograph and lovely garden, so nice to see you. I agree with your words. Alopecia is a big challenge especially when you are young as I was she it happened to me many years ago. Looking at how my life has evolved , I can see that a sense of direction , a willingness to commit and engage with life, with work, with happiness has brought so much joy into my life. So that with all that , the hair loss is minimized, it is no longer so,important. And it helps in learning how to see what is important, also brings much strength. So I wish much courage to all the people struggling with the ups and downs of alopecia - but you will come through and grow strong if you put your heart and mind to it.

To the young adult who removed his comment here himself, I will still list how I responded to you:

Stop trying, then. Just start being. Hang out with guys, succeed at something in your career, build something of note. PEOPLE do not like whiners and complainers, and THAT, my friend, may be your biggest issue. Like yourself for something you can accomplish/control, and your confidence and SMILE may make all the difference in the world. Besides, women are not made for you to conquer, without relationship, just to bed them (us) down. It is time you grow into the MAN you are meant to be. Leave behind the adolescent fantasies and disrespectful hunt. Women talk, and by now must have shared your words about GETTING them (and I do not mean GET as in UNDERSTANDING). We do not find love: it finds US...if we are receptive to letting The Force have the control!
