Today was my second day through my therapy and to my surprise it was my turn to talk, I spoke of my bad childhood and adolescent life and brought up "alopecia" I asked who here knows what that means? they all answered NO so I explained what it was and they told me I was very brave to share something like that. and that they couldn't even tell I wore a wig.But they were very supportive of it.
my counselor is going to help me raise awareness in Oshawa about alopecia when I have done my therapy progress.
I am sooo proud of myself!
Not only did I share something but we will soon do something about it :)

Wonderful! Sounds like a good group of people to 'come out' to share your alopecia with. I've found people to be very supportive about my aa when they get to know about it. I mean, wouldn't we be if someone shared they were bald with us? Of course! You've shown a lot of courage to talk about it, and that's the first step to really come to grips with it. Somehow it gives us some power back that we thought aa had robbed us of. Looking forward to hearing about your next session.
