Mickey Mouse hat with fabric glue on your head, then Turkish scarf for the water park!

I too went to a company outing to Disneyland and wondered the same thing. I used extra wig tape and then tied a scarf as a headband for extra security. I rode all the rides and nothing flew off. Now as for the water park, please let me know what you come up with because this years outing will be at a spa. Yikes!!! Thinking about biting the bullet and going all natural.

I am wearing beaubeaus from 4women.com. Wearing a wig all day is really not an option. They also have caps for swimming to match your bathing suit.

I had that same concern when i went to disney world spring 2006. Though I decided not to go to the water park, I would suggest avoiding water slides and wave pools (honestly your only option is lazy rive type stuff - otherwise you will be paranoid the whole time). And of course, there's nothing wrong with lounging by the pool while your daughter swims. Truthfully, you will feel a little gross and sweaty, there's just no way around it. I always keep "wet ones" wipes in my purse to freshen up in the bathroom when the heat starts to bother me.

In Disney world make sure not to go on the elevator ride that drops - I almost had a hard attack, I was holding on to my wig the entire time. Splash mountain was also a little stressful but turned out fine, and obviously stuff that goes upsidown is always a risk.

I hope my message isn't too discouraging, there is still A LOT of stuff you can do without feeling paranoid. I know that I certainly had a great time and there's nothing wrong with being the family photographer while your husband and daughter go on more of the intense rides.

Good luck and enjoy your vacation!

What did you wear on your head while you were there?? We arent going to the water parks but i would still like to wear my wig! do you think id be fine if i taped it on extra good?? Im still alittle worried about it coming off on the rides! I know its going to be itchy and hot but i just cant give in to having all my vaca pics with a baseball hat on or a do-rag!

Michelle!

I think i doing the same thing with the tape! For some reason i dont feel comfortable going all natural in public! And i get so mad when people assume i have cancer! I understand thats what it looks like but i would never come right out and ask someone!! people are so vane! Im not going to attemp the water parks so you will have to let me know what you decide!

I had a suction wig at the time (but it was a few years old so was not as tight as I would have liked). I would wear your wig with a baseball cap on top if that would make you feel more secure. It's really a ride by ride decision based on the speed and whether or not it goes upside down or involves a gush of wind (like splash mountain). Good luck!

I am a newbie, so I haven't tried this-what about glueing a beaubeau scarf to your head for the water rides? I wore a wide cloth head band (still have hair in the back) for scuba diving. It only came off when I removed my mask and snorkel. If you want to see what I am talking about, they sell them at coveryourhair.com. I have no hair in the front, so I pulled it down to the edge of my "hairline." Kinda a biker chick look. I bet a beaubeau scarf would look better. I heard people say wearing wigs on rollercoaster ruined their wig.

I recently went to an amusement park with my seven year old, who loves roller coasters. I just got a new wig and didn't want it to fly off, so I got some sunglasses/goggles at Amazon for $9.99. The ones I got are at this link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0039L8ZDQ/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details

They worked fine. I only wore them on the ride, and the roller coasters we were on were going about 50 mph at their peak and the elastic band of the goggles held the wig on fine.

I don't like going upside down, but I'm sure these goggles would have worked fine if I had gone on an upside down roller coaster. The goggles didn't fog up either.

These goggles also folded in half, so they would fit in a jeans pocket if you didn't have anything else in there. I would only wear them on the ride, and they also helped because I wear contact lenses.

For a water ride, couldn't you just wear swimming goggles and not look at all out of place?
