Do I cut the hair I have or leave it???

Hello Everyone!! I sure would love some input from you guys. I have alopecia areata ophiasis. I do not have hair on the back of my head and it appears that the alopecia is going to continue up the middle of my head. The hair I have (sides and some on top) is a little longer then shoulder length. I kept it long to try and cover the balding areas, creative hair styling and pyschological reasons I guess. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. ANYWAY....I digress...sorry. My question to ya all is...Should I get the hair I have cut to a very short style? Not a buzz, but very short...kinda like Sharon Stones. Keep in mind...no hair, just a little peach fuzz and bald spots on the back of my head. Also...just to help a little with a visual...I'm not the youngest chicken in the coop either. I'm 59 and have a pretty round face. I'm not fat (my BMI is in range)....but I'm not thin either. I would appreciate suggestions and or ideas.

Hi Becky -

First of all , in my instance it was easier to manage problem areas with a shorter haircut.
Less volume for the wind to catch etc .
We can only hide so much before we look kinda Donald Trumpish (men and women !! )

Actually , I was rather empowered when I buzzed my melon . Maybe youll feel the same.
Sharon Stone was quite the handsome lady ... and still is !

See ya round the "old" section of the chicken coop .

- Peace
