So...I'm ordering my wig tonight. I found 3 more patches starting - which gives me a total of 5...that I know of.
Does anyone else experience a pain sensation at the site of a patch? My big spot hurts to touch it. And it seems itchy a lot.
Has anyone ordered from wigs.com? I found a wig on there that was very close to my normal hair style - and the price seems to be average.
I hope somebody can help me with this - as I plan to order within the next hour...

I can't wait until I can shave this stress away...The ironic thing is - I've been told not to stress...as it could make the AA worse, but yet, I'm now stressing about the hair loss - Alanis should have put something in her song "Ironic" about hair loss.

Thanks!!

Good for you on getting a wig, I feel like I should be looking into them. I've counted 9 patches and yes I find that they itch. They hurt a little only when I try to move the hair around it in the opposite direction.

I couldn't tell if my patches itched or if I was just neurotically touching them a lot. After shaving my head, I saw I had 5 spots...one big and 4 smaller. The one that put me over the edge was the last one I got...about 1/4" into my hair right in the middle. It was tough to hide that one, so I bagged the annoyance and shaved. I love beng bald! Before I shaved I ordered a fab wig...red bob. It's saucy and feisty...like me! I followed advice given to me here by Susan (she is my hero). She said to go for a synthetic (you don't have to fuss with it and it always looks good), monofilament (it has a realistic part and you can style it to part anywhere). She also told me I'd need a blonde wig cap because you're trying to match your skin color, not the color of the wig, so the part looks real. She also suggested www.wilshirewigs.com. I went there, but did some comparison shopping as well. They have good prices and a good selection. I have since ordered two more wigs (just did that yesterday). I also followed Mary's advice (another hero) and went to eBay and ordered an Oyo Turkish Scarf. She shows you how to tie it on her video. That is on its way, too. I wore the wig over my own hair for a bit, but then I took the Bald Plunge and I'm glad I did!

Hi Christie.

When my hair was in the process of newly falling out, it would have an itchy and slightly painful sensation associated with it. I've had AA for 16 years and I almost can't even feel those sensations unless I really think about it.

I've ordered my wigs from wigs.com and I love it! Before I did though, I went on to youtube and watched other people put on the wigs/show them. It helped in making a decision for me.

I recently shaved it all off and it feels great! Good luck to you!
