To those that actually keep up on my sporatic blogs and more specifically those who were interested in the discrmination lawsuit against my old workplace, I finally got a response!! After a two week delay, I finally have it and these people haven't the slightest clue! They mentioned things that I had apparently said but didn't, things I had done but had permission to do and here's the biggest kick in the pants: I wasn't given my promotion because they hired someone else out of prejudice (according to the investigation report) however it also mentioned that no one got the job??? Hmmmmm??

Isn't discrimination a form of prejudice? If it's wrong for them to give someone a job out of prejudice then it's also wrong to deny someone due to discrimination. I hate it when you know you're so right about something but they tell you you're not even close. They denied EVERYTHING (but of course)!! They'll try mediation but I think that's just another way for them to waste more time until a court date ends up being scheduled 4 years down the road. I'm slightly apprehensive about continuing with this because they were rather hurtful in their response however I SHOULD keep fighting it. Send a little strength my way please, I could certainly use it!! Thanks.

I'm quite sure the manager hired someone she was buddies with for the prejudice thing but I'll keep you posted no matter how long it may take. LOL
Thanks for the support. :)

Once I mentioned something about discrimination with one of my situations, the employers settled out of court to avoid publicity. The check was BIG.

Tallgirl, you are very lucky to have gotten that. Although I did work for a US company, I am in Canada and for some strange reason people don't get anywhere near what they do in the US. Not to get into finances but I did ask for what I would consider a small amount for what they did to me and was told to lower it by about half and I still may only even get half of that. I'd love to make this a public affair and I presume when it goes to court it will be in the news just as it was for their last discrimination accusation which 4 years later is still being settled in our slow courts. They don't seem to mind news like this getting out because I found evidence that the company has done this to so many people in so many ways online. If only I had known the information was out there I may have avoided them altogether in the first place. Rosy - I do hope I can make a change though, no matter how small, it will be an improvement to what we have now which is nothing.

Good luck with your continuing lawsuit. Make sure you take time for yourself so you don't carry too much stress. :0) Take care!
