Recently I had done an interview with the editor with the local newspaper. It was about my alopecia journey and my going boldly to the gym without having any head covering. I was thrilled to see it printed in the newspaper 2 weeks later ( its a weekly paper) and even more shocked to see my picture on the front page. A small pic, but still front page.

Hi Terri. The article was pretty awesome! Thanks for that. I live on an acreage 10 minutes north of Spruce Grove. My son plays soccer and has swimming lessons at TLC. I just recently (3 weeks ago) stopped wearing wigs altogether. It's been a very positive and uplifting experience. I haven't gone bald bald yet, but I'm pretty close. It's nice to know that you're not the only one, even though you know you're not the only one (head scratcher).

This is awesome! I love your comment about alopecia being a battle, even though it's not chemo. Nice.
I'd love to hear about your tattoo! It's beautiful. I've thought about doing something on my head--how painful was it?

thank you everyone for the beautiful comments. I really enjoyed sharing my story. And have been shocked by the stops I have been getting at the gym. People asking about alopecia, or just commenting on the article. I have found it healing and exciting to educate and bring awareness to the general public. Mostly people have been responsive. But with anytime you put yourself out there, I have come across the "haters". Those people that just cant or wont wrap their heads around on how anyone can be bold, strong and outgoing in the face of a seemingly adversity.
For those that have been asking about the head tatt. It didnt hurt much at all. The artist I had was terrific and gentle. That tattoo is almost a year old and it still looks like the day I got it. For me, I thought that the injections for alopecia treatments was much more painful than either one of my tatts. I have one also on my neck.
