It breaks my heart to see anyone with no hair, little hair, bald spots, or to find out that they have a disease that will cause that but it really put my heart in pain when I saw a little girl not even in her teens yet with no hair and I watched people stare at her like they thought she was from a completely different world. It brought tears to my eyes when I saw a grown adult ask a little girl, that looked to be about 7 years old, why she didnt have any hair. I mean are you serious?!Your an adult how would you feel if you didnt have any hair and someone asked you that?! Im sorry that just really makes me mad.. I was about to go up to the little girl and tell her everything was okay but i paused when I saw her run to her mom balling her eyes out. All i could do was smile at her when i passed. I felt so guilty. What's happened to this world? Do you people not know how to be kind anymore?

oh i feel so bad when i see people behave like that. one thing alopecia has taught me is to be very sensitive and compassionate about the way people look and mostly about how i treat others. some people just have no real hardship in their lives to open their eyes to pain and also some people are just plain rude too. it is sad to see that!!

I feel the same as Joy. Sometimes something happens that makes you realize you need to open your eyes to the realities of life. my dad suffered brain injury in a car accident and of course it changed him. But I believe this has made my children more compassionate towards others. I tell them do u see how daddy was different but he was the same. and they do understand. Same with their lil brother. He polka dotted but still the same. And they get the chance to tell people what he has and that he is totally healthy. Which would be obvioulsy if u saw him running around lilke a wild animal. LOL! And they in turn treat people like humans regardless of their appearance, and put their friends in place when they wanna treat others differently. It all comes down to one thing THE WAY WE RAISE OUR CHILDREN!
