It is always nice when one's partner is supportive and maybe even does the shaving! It is not your mom's alopecia or head. She does not have to look into your mirror or face your people daily. You do what you have to do...from now on!

Thanks tallgirl! I did it! I glued the wig down and I'm really happy with and so is my husband. I'm going to see my mom tomorrow but I don't care if she hates the color I'm happy :)

Yes it's human hair from China. It doesn't look anything like my natural hair but everyone at work today thought I just colored it and was wearing in down for a change. Since I started losing my hair again I was always wearing wide headbands and pulling it in a low pony tail. Everyone today just told me wow you have long hair you should wear it down more. It's funny I was so worried about what they would think but truth is no one notices really. :)

Elaine, It's great that you made a decision. I am older and have gone so many years without wearing a wig. But haven't shaved my head yet either. Life is miserable. People are use to seeing me with little hair. It's hard to finally do it. It will be very noticeable when I start wearing my wig.
Glad your like you wig and hope that all goes well for you.

It is hard to make that decision. I have been wanting to do in for about year but it took me this long to say good bye to my hair I guess. I have had alopecia since I was 9 but this last year or so it got really hard to hide. I knew I had to make a choice so one night I decided to cut off my ponytail and then I shaved. I cried a little but I'm glad I did it! I had so many people tell how nice my hair looks I haven't heard that in years! I also have had a lot of people tell me I look younger with the new color. The wig is blonde really blonde! I will post a picture soon. Thanks to the support of this website it helped me make my decision. Thanks everyone!!!
