Lots of questions about doctors

Here you go...

For those of you who go the natural route - how did you find a homeopathic doctor? If I know of someone with a good reputation - is it worth traveling for? How often do you go? Do these doctor's treat children?

Has anyone ever gone to an immunologist - any luck there?

What about a gastroenterologist? All of these things that come up - leaky gut, candida/yeast... can these actually be diagnosed by tests?? Does it require a colonoscopy?

Who does allergy / food sensitivity testing (tests your normal allergist doesn't do?).

Thanks in advance for any input you might have - it all starts to get really confusing and I'm trying to figure out where to go next... I'm finding that my daughter's derm just wants to treat the symptoms and that's IT. Just want to be aware of other options!!

Cari,

With all due respect to Lois, her post is EXTREMELY misleading. I been thru many doctors and tests with my son and ended up finding spectacluar ones, both naturopathic and traditional medical doctors. However, my experience would be too lengthy to type. We are experiencing tremendous progress in our son's health. The only credit I can give to the post above is that hair does take time to grow, but the ground work has to be done. I used to live in NY and I can tell you more specifically about our experience if you would like. Send me a message and I'll give you my phone number to call me.

I know how you feel. I want my son's hair to grow back. Of course, we love, support, teach confidence, yadda, yadda, yadda....all that goes without saying. However, there is nothing wrong with trying to figure this crazy thing out and improving it if we can!!

Alopecia is an autoimmune condition so it makes perfect sense to look at her immune system (including the gut.) We went to a naturapath and it was worth every penny to have a doctor look at the whole body NOT JUST TREAT THE SYMPTOMS! Food sensitivities are not the same as allergies and many doctors don't believe in them but our experience (and many others with other autoimmune issues) says they are important. We have a happier, healthier girl (with hair). Feel free to message me for details.

Yeaahhhh!!! Finally, a person who is open-minded and thinks positive! I'm going to message u because I want to see if there is anything else I can try that hasn't already been suggested. My son is still bald with no eyebrows or eyelashes. I think we didn't get any explanation until it all had already taken affect.

He has peach fuzz, but they don't seem to go anywhere.
