I am a manager at McDonalds. Started there when my second daughter was born as the hours worked out quite well, figured if I was going to spend a bunch of time there I may as well make some money at it and work my way up as much as I can, if nothing else it will look better on a resume when I want to get back to working a "real" job... lol (I find that comment particularly funny because I think I have worked harder there than I ever have in my life) Anyways, I am pleased to announce that I am shaving my head to raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities. My boss has agreed to allow me to do it, along with another member of the management and we are going to raise money for charity at the same time. I am very excited because it will allow me to come to work after wards bald, not having to wear a wig anymore if I don't want to and will be accepted without having to explain myself. I have several bald patches and they are getting bigger by the day so now all that I have to do is be willing to put up with it until May 6, 2009, coming up fast! Also, I am happy to report that I have picked up about 6 hats that are going to look awesome with my bald head so if I don't want to show it off I have a bunch of really cute hats to cover it up with. Very excited. Hope it all works out, today I am excited, tomorrow I may be crying as I am going to be very nervous and at some point that part will kick in, enjoy the excitement while I am at that stage though. Look out world, here I come.

I think that is wonderful that you are both shaving your head AND raising money for such a great charity! My younger cousin was in and out of the hospitals for the first 3 years of his life, and my aunt and uncle wouldn't have been able to make it without the help of the Ronald McDonald House. Also, I want to let you know that I just shaved my head last week and it has been the best part of my alopecia journey thus far; I think you may feel surprisingly free after doing it, especially since you will be surrounded by so much support. You will look and feel beautiful, I'm sure of it, and will certainly inspire people along the way :) Take care and talk to you soon, Natalie

I bet your head will feel amazing afterward. ;O) Don't forget to stand in the rain. It feels amazing on your scalp. It is one of my favorite sensations.
