Today I thought I'd share about my new friends, some beautiful plants that I acquired over the weekend. Since I've stopped obsessing about my hair loss, I've been able to move onto and focus on more positive activities. Most of my friends know that I find plants creepy and yet, I have a desire to keep a few, select ones, carefully chosen for my climate, apartment, oh, and how I feel about them :) They make me happy and it keeps me calm when I look at them. I don't hate plants, I just feel differently around different ones. I know, I am so strange!

Anyways, here they are and I love them to bits. I also am trying to root some ginger, galangal and lemongrass and if that succeeds, I'll plop them into some soil :)

Very nice, Clara! I guess spring is in the air! This past weekend I also started planning my spring planting. As long as I can keep the positive energy flowing I want to plant planter bxes all around our deck. It feels good to think about something other than alopecia for once!

Hi Clara, Beautiful. I love plants too, but I am terrible at watering them. So I am very envious when I look at yours, but at the same time, know they wouldn't stand a chance in my house ;)

There is nothing like getting to a point that we are no longer stressing about our hair. It is then that you realize just how much energy can be drained from worry. We may think it is just a "mind" thing and it just occupies our thoughts and everything else remains the same. But the life that we lead is created by our thoughts. Thanks for the reminder.

Cheryl, I am not good with plants either! I do not have a green thumb but I'm trying my best this time around. I've also picked plants (besides the Orchid that can be finicky) that doesn't need a lot of watering and are pretty hardy. :)

Jenna - let me know how your planter boxes go, I would love to see some photos of that as it's so nice to be able to have a deck! I don't even have a balcony! Although I admit I am an apartment type of girl, I would still like to have some sort of outdoor space. :)

haha! Susan, I wish I had advice for growing orchids, they are tricky! I'm just following what my friend (she makes it look easy!) told me which is to water once a week and fertilize them once every two weeks. She told me once the blooms are done to just snip the stalk off to get them to grow again. Mine are doing ok but they don't look super healthy now. Not sure what to do. oh wells.
