It's an awesome experience. I have been a couple times and enjoyed every minute of it, besides loads of information you get, you meet so many people, all dealing with alopecia. and all the children, they inspired me. Everyone should at least go to one, it will be a positive experience and also for me, life changing. :-)

Okay thanks for the comment.Do you know if there is a lot of things for teenagers to do?

Oh, I'm sure there is. I know they have activities from children up to adults, for adults they have different sessions to sit in on, anything from medical info to how to apply make-up, etc..., hopefully someone with teenagers could comment on this for you.

Hi Joseph,

I have been to 18 consecutive conferences, this may be the first year I miss. I have to say that a lot of my "firsts" were at the conference. The first time I took my hair off in public, the first time I left my wig in my suitcase to the first time I left it home period. It is an experience that I think you will enjoy. I have met a lot of people before Alopecia World and of course many more after. It has been great to meet people that I have met here like Roger and Jeff and so many others that I have corresponded with here and then actually meet them in person as if I knew them. When I first saw members like Jeff & Roger and so many others, I could not help but give them a hug, it was like I already knew them :)

I have attached a bit of info for you from Alopecia World, I think there may also be some blogs about it, you would probably have to do a search. But here is a start:

For more information on the conference

If anyone goes to the conference, please don't forget to upload your photos and videos and share them with the community. Also invite any new friends you meet at the conference to join and upload their photos as well.

Hi Cheryl,

Meeting & hugging you in person is one the happiest days of my life!!!
I'll never forget it. I entered the hotel and saw You, RJ and Roger. We all hugged and greeted one another, one small teardrop followed my good cheer. I checked in, changed clothes and we were off and running. This my "first" time meeting fellow alopecians. Omg I dont think I exhaled until I got home.
I'll pass on this wonderful "World" you have created.
I hope you can make it for at least a day.

Love You and RJ so much!!!
Thanks for being such a huge part of my life!!!
OMG 19 days and counting.....

My teen sons with hair had so much fun with the teen group in 2000 (Hey there, Canada and Tennessee!) that they totally didn't notice the baldness of the friends they met, swam with ,toured with, partied with... and they totally started accepting their alopecian mother! I am SOOOOO glad I took them. I trusted them with the teen leaders, and they were up until 3 am. I was "cool" to them after that!
