I'm sure that like many people with alopecia I look at my nails sometimes in frustration.
As a female with no hair I like to decorate my nails. But they never grow, they peal, have pits and ridges.

A month or so ago I found a multi vitamin with 300% daily recommendation for biotin. I had read a number of times that biotin helps nails. Although many also say it was unproved.

I took most of the 30 tablets and did seem to feel was some growth. But I think I expected more and got disheartened. Never finishing the box.

A friend of mine told me afterwards that it takes 6 months to fully see any changes. I thought she was wrong and thought stuff it. But then I saw a nail report who also agreed 6 months.

Now I'm thinking of getting 6 months supply and seeing month by month if any improvement by Christmas.

I'm not holding out hope, I'm realistic to know that a body will do what it wants when it wants. But worth a try right.

I'll try add updates as the time goes on if notice any improvements. :)

I've been taking Biotin 2000-5000 mg 4 days a week for the last 7 years. The dosage varies depending whats on sale. I started taking Biotin when I got alopecia thinking it would help my hair grow.

I've never had a problem with my nails but they are stronger than ever before.

Hasn't really helped with the hair situation though.

Hope the Biotin helps your nails grow strong and healthy in time for Christmas!

Actually going to be a multi vitamin so a bit of a boost to everything just happens to have a lot of biotin in as well.
No harm in trying at least to stop some pealing.
