OK, this is probably my first attempt at humor (good or bad) since I've come to find out about my AA (more info in my profile).
Showering used to be a fun activity for me. Not the same kind of fun like dinner out with my wife, a round of golf, or anything like that. But at minimum, it was enjoyable...refreshing. Either first thing in the morning to wake my happy arse up and get ready for the day, or sometime during the evening after a long, stressful day.
Now???? Man oh man...I HATE going to take a shower. No worries, I still do since I refuse to compound issues with body odor and hygeine issues :-) That said, I sure do hate showering now. The sheer angst of shampooing, then looking down to see a sight similar to what Normandy must have looked like on D-Day. Then, the worse of it...after you've rinsed off, forgotten about the handful of lifeless hair in your palms..........you get ready to towel off.
I don't know about you all, but prior to toweling off, I purposely look at my white towel and inspect it for pre-existing hair-corpses in it. Once I'm satisfied that there are none or that I've taken a good mental account, I then proceed to dry my hair. There were days where I would see 5-6 hairs there...whew!!! BUT, there are days where it's just plain depressing.
I try to shrug it off and convince myself that it's got to get worse before it gets better (sound familiar to anyone?). However, if I'm honest with myself, each shower is almost a swift kick to the twig and berries.
Oh well, I'm certain life goes on. Hope things get better for me, and for all of us deserving folks in this forum.
Take care,
John
