Not a typical question on the wedding forums

so with my groom bumping the wedding date up by three months I'm feeling stressed. I should be focusing on finding a venue (why is everything so expensive) but instead I'm thinking about what to do for hair. I'm not in love with the wig that i have but can't afford to pay another $400 for a new one. Ryan would be just as happy if i walked down the isle without hair by my grandmother would probably drop dead on the spot. I've already had to sit and listen to her go on and on about how awful it is that i lost my hair and how hair is symbol of a woman's elegance and beauty. I once dyed my hair black and she came up to me and said "its ok i once got a really bad perm, it will grow out". i thought it looked awesome. anyway thought i would look for something that resembled my old hair, long and blond and wavy. but it is impossible to find. grrrrrr.

im sorry to hear about what your grandmother says, i'm not allowed to show my head to my grandmother either. but you should go online and bye a cheap wig and dont wear it till the day of so it stays good... also if you want you can bring the wig to the hair dresser and they can do something about it.

one site is
www.paulayoung.com ... the wigs are around $50, i know it your wedding day and everything has to be the best however if you go to the hair dresser, they will make look like a million dollar wig, if you find a good one first.
my picture, thats wig, i went to the hair dresser and they made it look like the best thing ever.

also http://thewigcompany.com/category.asp_Q_c_E_1410_A_PreStyled+UPDOS
you can get updo style wigs... about $100
i really hope this helps

For my wedding years ago, I had a synthetic and thought there wasn't a thing I could do with it. If you have to use the one you have, consider restyling it. A synthetic wig can be put in curlers (if you want curls plus they mask any aging defects in the hair) and then pour almost boiling water on it and leave it to dry. The hot water reshapes the hair and does a pretty good job. A stylist also has tools to take away most of the frizzies you get with age and depending on the veil you choose, there are so many kinds I'm sure you can find one that compliments your hair. Good luck and congrats!

If you can find the money from somewhere, it's worth paying more!!! My wig was $3,000 - I had no money but I pleaded my Dad and he eventually loaned it to me from his trust fund - because how I feel about my appearance is very important to me. It doesn't mean you can't look gorgeous on a cheaper one, but it's your wedding day - I'm sure you only want one of those, rally around and find the money - you're worth it!
